Mongolia 2.0: The longest drive EVER

Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake or Great White Lake was a long ass drive from Khuvsgul Lake. We set off bright and early at 8.30AM, only to reach our nomad family’s place 12 hours later.

That was some tough drive – I felt like my vertebrate was gonna slip out of my body.

Mom’s first time in Mongolia and this was also her first nomad stay
Our ger right in front of the lake, with a full moon that evening.
Khorgo Volcanic Crater – accessed via a short hike up. This is the youngesr extinct volcano in Mongolis, dead for about 8,000 years.
Rocky canyons – a 100km long river formed from the volcanic eruption from Khorgo
Chaotic goodbye haha

Arrived in this adorable tourist camp – a new hot spring hotel by our Sunpath hosts!

There were two areas where you could soak in. And your visit has to be booked in advance with the hosts.

As this was a new establishment, there were a couple of hours where there’s no water/electricity. Was a really lovely, quaint area. Will certainly be keen to visit in colder days and just bum around.

And that’s all for now!
