Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam // Day 8 // Ben Thanh Market

Our last day in Ho Chi Minh was less packed as we only had Ben Thanh Market on our itinerary.

Since the hotel breakfast buffet was not appetizing at all, we gave it a miss and ate at a stall in Ben Thanh Market.

Very tasty! The broth was really nice and light. Plus, the use of big and fat prawns immediately lifts the status of the dish.P1090199

Last few days in Vietnam! So Vietnamese coffee is a must!P1090201

I ordered pork porridge and there was an assortment of pork innards. Not for the faint hearted.

Fried spring rolls which were tough and cold. Boooo.P1090208

When they served us our coffee, the stall owner also gave us this glass of yellowish liquid. It turns out that it’s something like a neutralizer. Once you drink this after your coffee, you can no longer taste the lingering taste of it.P1090209P1090212P1090214P1090219P1090220P1090222

There were many stalls selling desserts so we went for it to see how it differed from those that we find in Singapore.

J’s order: Basically the Cheng Tng we usually consume but in a cup. For me, I ordered this Tri-color dessert with coconut milk. Pretty delicious!

Everywhere you go in Ben Thanh market, there would be people touting for business. We did not see much that attracted us and we were out in an hour._DSC7298P1090238P1090240
