Hello allllll! We have just returned from Phuket yesterday night! What a trip this has been. 5 days of wholesome awesomeness just resting our souls and eating to our hearts’ content. 

We woke up bright and early to catch our flight. Once again, we have broken our record and spent a mere $102 on two-way air tickets. Hehehe!

How amazingly beautiful isn’t it? The wonders of nature taking place.

Upon reaching at the airport, you would chance upon aplenty of transport services. They are mainly divided into two broad categories: Mini-bus and Taxis. If you have some time to spare and do not mind waiting for 10-20 minutes plus you wish to thrift on some transport costs, I’d say go for the mini-bus. It costs 200 baht per person, as compared to taxi services which cost 1000-1200 baht for a journey to Kata. It would be cheaper to travel to Patong though, as it is relatively nearer to the airport. The travelling time takes approximately one hour to Kata. 

And tadah! We’ve reached at our hotel! Sugar Marina Resort Fashion is one of the chain hotels. They have other hotels such as Nautical, Art, and Surf. Furthermore, they operate restaurant chains such as Black Pearl, Mama and Mali.

The primary reason for choosing this hotel was its superb location. It was located conveniently 3 mins to Kata beach and very affordably priced.

We booked our stay at agoda.com and people had commented that the bed were too hard. I agree with them but personally, I find that it was not THAT hard and pretty comfortable. But what I really liked about the bed was that it was hugeeee. I loveeeee huge beds and I have a King size one in my room so that I can always roll around hehe!

2 major flaws for the hotel: 1. Shower Head, 2. Lack of running track. The shower head in the resort was those attached to the ceiling and non-detachable. I prefer shower heads that are detachable, enough said. And the gym! Such a major disappointment. J and I had brought along running shoes to workout in the gym but to our disappointment, there were no running track around! Had these two been included and rectified, the stay would have been almost perfect!

Overall, the 4 nights stay were amazing. Sugar Marina Resort have one of the best facilities, meticulous staff, clean rooms and brilliant breakfast spread. In-room dining was GREAT. Their food were affordably priced but of relatively high standards. This may not be the most luxurious hotel around, but it certainly makes one feel at home and at ease. This hotel definitely ranks as one of the top few hotels I’ve stayed in for all my overseas trips. In fact, I have told J that I would love to stay in their other hotels the next time we visit Phuket.
