Tassie Part III: Bay of Fires

We had included Bay of Fires in our initial plan but took it out realizing that we didn’t have as much time as we had.

But after the chat with the caravan folks, we decided again to add Bay of Fires back. And I’m so glad we did!

It was a pretty gloomy day when we set off.

Was an easy drive up – didn’t take too long and we stopped by a couple of places to refuel, and catch the scenery.

That was some cool sight

And since we set off early, we were able to travel around Bay of Fires and visit Priory Ridge Wines.

The owner, Julia, was super kind and also gave us tons of recommendations of to-do’s.

Left with a Chardonnay that was pretty good.

Original plan was to go to Sloop Reef but we decided to go to Dora Point instead as suggested by Julia.

Captivating sunset where we were treated with changing colors throughout the evening!

We were treated with blue skies and gorgeous weather the next day.

First stop: Pyengana Dairy Company

St Colombia Falls

Ralphs Falls: Gravel road in so there was absolutely no one when we visited

Halls Falls

And that sums up our 2D1N at Bay of Fires. We took a 4 hour drive to Cradle Mountain next. And I must say, Cradle Mountain was most certainly the highlight of our trip!

More to come.

Love, Olly’23
